October 2017 Newsletter Oct. 8th Moms passing two years ago Birthdays Regan Oct, 10th Grandad- Grandad went with his 4 siblings, Galien, Marylin, Joyce and Larry along with inlaws Susan, Bob and Cheryl to Martin's Cove. Susan found a cabin only 15 minutes away from the cove otherwise they would have had to stay in a hotel 60 miles away. This cabin they stayed in is owned by Tom Son. The church has been negotiating with the Sons' for 50-60 years to buy the property he owns that Martins cove was located on with no avail. About 5 years again Tom decided it was time for him to split up his land sell parts of it to the Church. Which now the church can have tours and is a popular place for Youth Treks. When the church purchased the property it sparked an interested in the 57 people who had died at Martins cove. The church did extensive research to find these people which are in unmarked graves and no record of their death and were able to get names and do all their temple w...
